🌼 Teaching With Heart in the Mountains

High in the remote Kulen Mountain region of Cambodia, Vanara Mao is opening doors to opportunity through education.

From beneath his humble home, Vanara runs a small English school for the children of his village — giving them access to learning, confidence, and a brighter future. For many of these children, his classes are their only chance to study a foreign language or dream beyond their current circumstances.

His dedication has turned a small village classroom into a movement of hope.

💛 What Vanara’s School Provides

• Free English classes for more than 40 children each week
• Basic literacy and learning supplies in a safe, nurturing space
• Mentorship and moral guidance to help children believe in their potential
• Community gatherings that celebrate learning and connection

The school operates under the raised floor of Vanara’s house — with simple desks, a whiteboard, and a dirt floor. Even in the rain, the children arrive, eager to learn.

🌱 How LOTUS Supports

LOTUS Humanitarian has supported Vanara’s mission since 2020 by funding his monthly teacher salary and providing school supplies, food kits, clothing, and books for the children and their families.

Our next goal is to help him build a proper classroom beside his home — with a roof, desks, and chairs — so that children can continue studying during the heavy rains.

💫 Every $50 helps provide supplies and lessons for 10 children for one month.

Vanara teaches with humility and purpose. “Education gives freedom,” he says. “When children can learn, they can dream — and when they can dream, they can change their world.”

His dream is simple yet profound: to build a safe, permanent classroom where every child can learn, rain or shine.
