🌼 Creating Hope for Women and Children
In Tanzania, Grace Ngonyani is changing lives through compassion and empowerment. Her organization, the Gracious Hope Foundation, uplifts women and mothers by meeting two of their most pressing needs — affordable childcare and menstrual hygiene education.
Grace’s work ensures that women are not forced to choose between caring for their children and earning a living. She believes every woman deserves the chance to thrive — and every girl deserves to go to school with confidence and dignity.
💛 What Gracious Hope Does
1️⃣ Free Daycare for Working Mothers
Many women in the community cannot afford childcare, leaving them unable to work or study. Grace created a safe daycare center where children receive care, food, and early learning while their mothers work toward a better future.
- LOTUS Humanitarian previously sponsored a well for the center
- Current needs: electricity connection to power the water pump for new toilets and a community garden
- Additional needs: mattresses, teaching supplies, chairs, and desks
2️⃣ Reusable Pad Project
Girls in rural areas often miss school during their periods or drop out entirely due to lack of resources. Grace is tackling this issue head-on by producing and distributing reusable menstrual pads and educating girls about menstrual health and self-respect.
Her goal is to reach 2,000 girls next year. LOTUS Humanitarian has committed to 500 pads from the May tour and has already sponsored sewing machines for local women to produce them sustainably.
